Meet André Da Costa


André Da Costa joined the teams at Vhils Studio, Solid Dogma, and Underdogs Gallery in 2014, where he worked as a director, camera operator, and editor. In this context, he was the editor for several videos created by Alexandre Farto, also known as Vhils, and directed various videos about the artist’s work. At Underdogs, he directed videos about the artists and projects of the gallery, including names such as Ernest Zacharevic, AkaCorleone, Sainer, ±MaisMenos±, Finok, Pedro Matos, Mário Belém, among many others. From 2015 onwards, he also worked with the creative unit Solid Dogma, where he directed music videos and documentaries. In 2016, he joined the FIM production company, where he took his first steps in advertising and worked with brands such as NOS, MOCHE, SOCIEDADE PONTO VERDE, FUJITSU, CIEN, LIDL, CUF, and others. In March 2019, he co-founded Dona Edite Filmes with Mariana Machado, focusing on fiction, documentary, and performing arts. In the same year, he also collaborated on TV commercials and music videos. In recent years, he has worked as a freelancer, exploring the intersection between documentary and fiction, with the standout project FATO MACACO (2023), which premiered in cinemas in Lisbon and Setúbal.
